A Home In Transition

The Porter Home is in transition.
We have a 3rd bedroom that is no longer needed as a bedroom full-time. So guess what? A new purpose is priority number one because if not, clutter will just find its way into there.

So what options do we have?
a) a fitness room
b) a content room
c) a dressing room
d) a sitting room
e) a home office
f) all of the above

Drum roll please (in my Will Smith voice)

All of the above!

Here is a video of where we are in the room as of this week. I have one of my favorites on YouTube, Jessie of Cappuccino and Consignments in the background. If you don’t know who she is, find her. She is a pleasure.

After I got the room painted all-white, which was previously sunflower yellow, I purchased the IKEA KALLAX shelving unit almost immediately knowing it would provide wonderful storage and display options personally and for creating content.

My next move was to bring all of my colorful dresses, coats, & jackets from my primary closet into this closet since we removed the sliding doors years ago.

Then, I decided to display my designer bags & pretty shoes in the “display case”.

I replaced a standard folding table with a gorgeous acrylic folding desk I snagged from Home Goods which TOTALLY shifted the vibe of the room and gave clear direction for accent pieces.

My final purchase for the week were these two super comfy chairs I found on Amazon. This was the first time I purchased furniture on Amazon and I am so pleased. The back & arms of these chairs recline and I can curl up if desired with my feet up on the ottoman.

I absolutely love them!

What do you think? They are perfect for my morning coffee and chatting on Facetime with my friends & family. This room is most definitely my new happy place.

I am now on the lookout for decor pillows, potentially a small throw blanket, ARTWORK, and plants!

What room of yours needs a revamp & a repurposing? Please share!

Don’t be a stranger now, ya hear! We’ll talk soon.
